K9-PrecisionDx™

hat is K9-PrecisionDx™?

K9-PrecisionDx™ is an advanced but cost-effective tumour sequencing panel aimed at sequencing tumour tissue. It’s recommended, when you want to identify if tumour carries well established therapeutic targets, such as: BRAF V595E mutation or ERBB2 amplification in urothelial carcinomas or TP53, PTEN, PIK3CA, NRAS in hemangiosarcoma; PTPN11 or KRAS mutations in canine histiocytic sarcoma; various prognostic factors in canine lymphoma such as TP53, TRAF3, MYC, SETD2

How does it work?

K9-PrecisionDx™ detects clinically relevant genetic alterations across 75 cancer-related genes, providing valuable information about tumour biology, prognosis and potential therapeutic targets.

Why is K9-PrecisionDx™ different?

K9-PrecisionDx™ has been developed specifically for determination of somatic mutations in well-sequenced, frequently seen cancers. We sequence the genes to at least 200x allowing for precise detection of tumour DNA variants. The test analyses 75 cancer-related genes, providing valuable information about tumour biology, prognosis and potential therapeutic targets.

Sample requirements
K9-PrecisionDx™ can be performed using:

  • Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumour tissue

We require 5x5um shavings from tumour blocks with at least 30% of tumour tissue.

Please note that the process used to remove minerals from bone tissue (decalcification) can damage tumour DNA, which may make genetic testing unsuccessful. If you are planning genetic testing in the future, please ask your pathologist to save a sample of soft tumour tissue before decalcification is performed. This is especially important for cancers such as osteosarcoma, oral melanoma, and oral squamous cell carcinoma.

  • Fine-needle aspiration (FNA) samples.

We require at least 3 cellular slides, with at least 30% of tumour cell content.
